Citibank Consumer Loan department,
Installment loan Managing the loan or lease Florida
I am a - Veteran and -/-/-, had to abandon my NC home, due to unsafe/unhealthy mold. The house was uninhabitable and was way to expensive to repair. I could not do it, nor could I afford to pay someone. I had to file Chapter - BK, in hoping to release my name from Deed, due to CitiMortgage surrendering house back to - -. I was NOT made aware that Citi did this and all sorts of back taxes and City of - - " Maintenance '' fees were accruing. When a law firm discovered my address, from the last water bill paid, they sent me letters stating that they would foreclose, due to these fees. I panicked and filed Chapter -. I thought Citi had control of the mortgage and were going to sell the property. They sneakily surrendered it back to - -. Citi paid -/-/- taxes, put a tarp on roof, changed locks and placed anti freeze in pipes.
Citi was also made aware of my abandoning said property via phone call AND mail. - - confirmed this fact. One lady at - County tax office, told me that I am not responsible for the taxes, yet the same county office filed a claim against me, including City of - maint. fees., atty. fees, etc.. The BK Trustee handling my case, was made aware of this fact and decided to still penalize me, forcing me to pay, despite me making mention of this. I even disclosed the womans name and phone number!? One person tells me I do n't owe and another says I owe, even though I walked away from the house due to health/safety circumstances. I just finished spending an entire year living in E-TREME poverty, yet ineligible for any social programs, unless I sell all my possessions, which is n't considered as squat! I drive a - Dodge Dakota, which is in less than fair shape. I am totally disgusted with how things have turned out over the last 10 or so years and I 'm not surprised that many other Veterans in my position -! Yet these same people always exclaim : " THANK YOU for your service to our country! "? The whole reason behind this financial mess of mine, is primarily due to the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and their " Delay, Deny and Hope that I Die! '' mentality. My claim is over 14 years old. - - refuses to release the lean, even though I 'm involved in a Bankruptcy proceeding, unless I pay them $1000.00! My name remains on the deed until I do so, which as you know I am responsible, if the house is set on fire or someone is injured on the property. - I also have a separate claim, that I would like to file against - -, but will do so separately.
