Vehicle lease Problems when you are unable to pay Michigan

In -/-/- I was in a position where I decided it was a good time and I was stable enough to take out a car on payments. It is my first time making payments on a car. However, I became - and due to some unforeseen circumstances I moved to another state. Homeless and jobless. I found a job about a month after moving to Michigan and quickly realized it was not what the job description had stated it to be. I was getting less then 20 hours during 2 weeks. I was struggling to keep myself above the water financially. - I was fired. The amount I was paying to the leasing company and car insurance did not leave me any remainder to look for a place to live and I have a baby coming shortly. It is not easy looking for a job at 6 months pregnant. However, I quickly after being fired found another job at -. I am currently employed and working around 25-35 hours a week. Still the amount I take home is not enough to pay for the basic living expenses and save for a baby and a car note and full coverage insurance.


that in their lease program you are not required to have full coverage insurance but I am required. Also when I leased the car the agent told me I had a return any time lease with no expenses. I was also told when I called in that I had the return any time lease. When I called to turn in my car all of a sudden that changed and I no longer have that option. In my copy of my contract it tells me I can return my car any time with no penalties. However, everyone keeps telling me that I have no options, managers and regular employees. If I miss my payment over 30 days they will come and take the car or if I return the car I am still responsible for the remaining balance on the lease. I am trying to pull myself out of a rut and I am trying to do it the right way but I do not make enough money. I do not know what to do. I can not afford a lawyer to help me. I am on my own.
