Closing/Cancelling account Arizona
I 've had a Wells Fargo Secured Credit Card for two years. I funded the account with $800.00 from my Wells Fargo checking account. When I called Wells Fargo to close the account today ( -/-/16 ), I was informed that the outstanding account balance, $600.00, will be applied from the $800.00 deposit. This I expected. However, I was informed that the balance refunded to me will not be given back to me for 45-60 days. In addition, until the amount was refunded to me, I will have to make payments or be charged late fees. Also, I was told that the account needs to have that long of period to refund the difference in case there were any transactions from merchants that Wells Fargo has agreements with so the amount could be charged to the account.
