Citibank Credit card department,
Unsolicited issuance of credit card Pennsylvania
When Costco terminated their relationship with - -, I advised Costco that I did not want another - card with Citibank. Costco personnel advised me not to activate the card when I received it. I did not activate the credit card that Citibank sent to me. I subsequently received a bill from Citibank for the $55.00 annual membership fee that was billed to the account that I never activated. I have called Citibank twice. They have informed me that the account is closed, however, I needed to have Costco back out the $55.00 membership fee. When I went into Costco, they said they could not back out the fee without the credit card, which I shredded when I received it. I am still receiving voice mail messages from Citibank about my " account '' which they have twice informed me was closed, even though I never opened the account. I am disturbed that a vendor was able to charge an item to an account that I never activated, and am now getting the run around from both Costco and Citibank. Citibank just wants me to pay the $55.00. I do not want to pay on an account I never opened.
