Discover Credit card department,
Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement New York
Having multiple credit cards, I gave discover the wrong passcode to my account. They immediately transferred me to the fraud department, without my knowledge. All of a sudden it went from courteous service to someone who was brief and dismissive. The personal questions they asked about my life are pulled from public records and they were not accurate. So they continued to lock my account despite them having incorrect information. I was finally able to activate my card but I felt such a difference in service when transferred to the fraud department. While Discover 's goal may be to put the customer first, they clearly do not treat all customers equally. Furthermore, their disinvestment in technology systems which could speed up the credit card activation process is eye-opening. They could not verify me by sending a passcode to my phone or email.
