U.S. Bancorp Bank account or service department,
Other bank product/service Using a debit or ATM card Washington
Dear CFPB representative, On - -, 2016, I tried to withdraw $800.00 cash from a U.S. Bank ATM ( - : - - - - -, WA - ) using my foreign bank debit card ( -, - -, - - -, -, - - ). The ATM initially displayed " Please take your cash '' but no cash came out, and then it displayed something like " There was an fault and the transaction was cancelled ''. However my debit card was debited $800.00 and a transaction fee of $3.00 was charged. I talked with the teller of U.S. Bank in -, and they admitted that ATM had been having some problem that day and they have received complaints. They told me to submit a dispute from my local bank ( - ) and wait for one week to see the balance updating on that ATM. I submitted a dispute for the failed transaction on - -, 2016 but today I received following-ups local bank saying the U.S. Bank said the transaction was successful and there was no remaining balance associated with this transaction, indicating U.S. Bank did not want to take the responsibility. I also contacted U.S. Bank ATM services but they refused to help me but insisted on resolving the problem with my local bank. So the situation became an endless loop : I submitted a dispute through my local bank as U.S. Bank told, but then U.S. Bank denied their responsibility. I hope CFPB can help me get my money back. Thank you so so much!!! Best regards, - -
