Vehicle loan Managing the loan or lease Texas

I 'm a - veteran living on benefits, got a car on -/-/2014. Then fell into financial hardships, got behind on car payments. I knew that there would be late fees as it read in the truth and lending disclosure bracket of - % after 10 days of said scheduled payment. Then come to find out that lenders were charging us what they called " a $6.00 per diem PER DAY!!! '' if our full payment was not received on the - of every month, on top of the - % late charge fee! Then they take our monthly payment, deduct their " $6.00 a day per diem late charge first, then the late charge of - % also gets deducted, then and only then whatever money is left gets the principal deducted. I called them to say that I did not see this on the contract or have any knowledge of this crazy rule. If I would of, there is now way in the world I would of signed. Their reply was you " should of read your contract ''. Now we find ourselves so deep in this hole and lost a lot of money, do n't know what to do. I 'm - here with this, it just does n't feel right! Asking for some assistance and information in this nightmare!
