I always try to be conscientious about my payments. In - I made my - payment. A few days later I made my - payment. Because it was before the bank statement cutoff they applied my second - payment to principal. Now that it is - I received a delinquency letter. I pulled my payment history and took it to Wells Fargo and went over it with a personal banker. She called the student loan division and they told her because I made my payment before the statement cutoff they applied it to principal. Since I made this through Wells Fargo there was no way to indicate where to post the payment so they used their judgement. They refuse to fix this problem and wo n't apply the payment correctly. In the mean time I have had to make an extra payment. Now I show a delinquent payment when in fact I did not have -. They should not be allowed to charge delinquent fees nor report to a reporting agency when in fact they are at fault not the consumer
