Citibank Credit card department,
I am a Citibank Thank You Preferred Visa credit card holder in good standing ( and a Citigold Premium checking account holder ). In -/-/- I received a balance transfer offer from Citi Bank with the following offer language : " Lower Rate '' : 0 % promo APR with a fee of $5.00 or 4 % of the balance ; and " No Fee '' 4.99 % promo APR. I was confused because it says " No Fee '' but below reads " The standard balance transfer fee is $5.00 or 3 % of the amount ... .. '' so I called Citi Customer service to get clarification. I was assured that the 4.99 % offer was indeed a " No Fee '' offer and that the language about fee was to show what the fee would have been if it were an offer with a fee. So I made a transfer of $2500.00 with the - 4.99 % check provided - and, despite the stated " No Fee '' ( and the assurance from customer service that this is a " No Fee '' offer ), my account was charged a 3 % balance transfer fee ( $75.00 ). I have written four times to Citi customer service via their website, by fax, and by U.S. mail asking that the $75.00 fee be refunded but have not received a response of any kind.
