-/-/2016 I called Citi credit card co. to get the payoff amount of my credit card, $610.00. I explained to the person at Citi that I would like to make the payment through BILL Pay - - because that is where all the other monthly payments were made. I explained that the payment would arrive about 5 to 7 days late and if that was OK I would proceed with the payment. I cut up the credit card and made what I assumed was my final payment. Citi did charge me a late fee of $25.00 and I was not aware of this until they started calling me in -/-/-. I did receive Citi card mail but was not aware it was a late fee but thought it was just information about my cash rewards and other offers so I never opened the mail but put them in the trash. To date my account is at $120.00 because of late fees on top of late fees. Citi agreed to reduce it $86.00. but I feel I paid them in full when I called in to get the payoff amount. They have no record of this call. Do I have any rights or do I need to just pay the ridiculous late fees?
