Closing/Cancelling account Washington
Lately I 've been cleaning house of the unnecessary and decided it was time to just close my credit card accounts to avoid the balances continuing to rise although I knew I would never use them again. I knew it would take a long time but much less time than if I continue to watch them grow balances with the interest charged. Over just the last 6 months the balances rose by over $1000.00 without using any of them. I would have closed them all out 6 months ago. I cancelled - cards and I asked each and every - of them if I can make my payment on line or by phone. Also will my payment go up or with this freeze the interest so I really work toward paying them down? These - I would give acknowledgement
All - said yes, it would freeze it and I could continue to make my minimum monthly payments if I chose to and I would see the balances decrease. Discover card has a different story. - tells me that regardless if the card is open or closed, interest will still accrue at the same rate. How can this be true? I 'm am forever in debt to Discover card unless I get a big chunk of money to throw their way? Stealing, thievery, trickery, wrong and I 'd like someone to stop it please!
