Bank of the West Consumer Loan department,
Installment loan Managing the loan or lease Arizona
The Bank of the West loan reports on my credit as " Charged-Off ''. However this loan should never have been " Charged-Off '' as I was covered by GAP Insurance. In addition to this erroneous reporting ; My report dated - -, - reported this item as charged-off -/-/-. Bank of the West has now changed the charged-off date to -/-/- and then again for the 3rd time with a new charged-off of -/-/-. This company clearly keeps reporting erroneous inaccurate information on my credit report. This new charge-off date has dramatically lowered my credit rating/score and has damaged me greatly. Potential creditors see this as a " NEW '' item that is in default ; which should NEVER have been reported as " Charged-Off '' in the first place. Re-aging an item is a violation of the FCRA. Furthermore this erroneous information has caused me to be turned down for home financing. The reporting also shows a balance of $250.00. I was never notified of a due balance because I had GAP insurance, there should not have been a due balance. I 've disputed this erroneous item with -, - and - and Bank of the West has verified that the information is accurate. Which clearly is not.
