I have been receiving a phone call that leaves a voicemail that is as follows : - Voicemail We have an important message from Eastern account system. This is a call from a debt collector. Please call -. Upon calling this number, it went straight to voicemail. The last two times I picked up when this number called, I asked the caller to identify why they were calling and what the call was in regards to. The first time prompted the caller to hang up as they would refuse to talk until I verified who I was. The second time the caller exhibited the same behavior and I asked that they again identify what the call was about and again they refused. Today I received a letter from the same company ( Eastern Account System ), and they claim there is a service balance due on my cable bill. Upon talking to the cable company they believe that I am a victim of fraud and recommended contacting a credit monitoring service. My credit monitoring service directed me to file a complaint, and if the caller persists file a police report.
