JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit card department,
Balance transfer fee Pennsylvania
RE : Case number : - Regarding the above referenced case number, Chase responded with a letter dated - -, - advising that they would not be refunding the $150.00 balance transfer fee. In the letter, they advised that they had reviewed my calls to Chase from -/-/- and -/-/-. They state that there was no mention of interest charges during the call on -. The fact is that I made calls to Chase on - @ -, - @ - - and - @ - -. Is n't it funny that they said they reviewed the call on -, but there was no call on that date? Also, during the call on -, the actual balance transfer was initiated, but not before I confirmed the terms of the offer again ( thus the reason for my argument ). After the balance transfer was completed and I received the letter dated -, I immediately made my third call on - as I said that the letter has different terms than the original offer letter and the subsequent calls I made to Chase to receive clarity of the terms of this offer. In summary, my argument remains as this - I
charges each month during the grace period. As evidence of my calls to Chase, I have provided my phone records for these initial 3 phone calls. In the call on -, I clearly stated that the letter I received offers contradictory information than that which was described in the original offer letter and then verbally, in the 2 phone calls made to Chase on - and on -, when the offer was accepted. The reasoning for asking for the $150.00 refund is that I would NOT have taken advantage of the offer if I had known that interest would accrue on my purchases AND after taking advantage of the offer, I would have immediately retracted if I was properly advised that the interest was going to be charged. After contesting the issue for a few months, I immediately repaid the money to avoid additional finance charges. The fact remains the same, however, that I paid $150.00 to have the $7500.00 interest-free through - and had to repay that amount prematurely. So again, I reiterate that I see this as a hook, line and sinker ... .A deceptive offer was made and I took it.
