Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement California
Someone stole my identity and used it to open a fraudulent credit card with Montgomery - to purchase merchandise. The first time I heard about, I received an invoice from Montgomery - for products that were shipped to a different address than mine. That should have been a " red flag, '' which they ignored. I contacted them by telephone to advise them about the fraudulent credit card. They promised to take action and did nothing. Since advising their credit department, I have written several letters explaining the situation. However, they actually let the criminals charge more goods, and continue to send me invoices and reminders about payment. I am at wits end. Today, I received a letter from them stating that they have heard nothing from me, which is a lie. I believe they have tossed my letters into the trash and continue to harass me. I wonder if Montgomery - is a legitimate retainer, or a scam organization. Please let me know what I have to do to get these predators out of my life.
