I have a vehicle that went into reposession with Santander in between -. This account is listed as charged off. A balance of $1.00 reflects every month as 90 days past due. I called Santander to ask them to change this account to a - balance. They would not do so, nor allow me to pay a $1.00 balance. Instead I was asked to call a separate phone # /department first. After calling the separate department that I was referred to, the representative informed me that I must pay additional fees ( between $ - $800.00 ) before they would consider removing or - out the balance. I have never been notified of these outstanding fees and feel that I am now being held hostage by fees that I have never been advised of. I feel this creditor has an obligation to my credit profile to report fairly and accurately. I tried to satisfy the debt and am now being advised of new charges that I 've never been shown an accounting for.
