USAA Savings Credit card department,
USAA pulled my credit report this resulted in an inquiry, which in turn lowers my credit score. There is an alert placed on my credit report to verify my identity. USAA made no attempt to verify my identity. I was told to call Equifax and have them remove the alert and then reapply for credit. This is unacceptable and extortion. The only reason listed for denial is Unable to verify applicant 's identity. - application should not result in multiple inquires into a credit file and one should not be extorted into removing a protective alert because a company can not be bothered to attempt verification of identity. I have never had this problem as most companies ask verification questions as part of the application process.
