Non-federal student loan Taking/threatening an illegal action Sued w/o proper notification of suit California
ECMC contacted my employer. I had never received any information, telephone call, document, or written correspondence from ECMC. -/-/-, the first I heard of them was via my employer. ECMC would not provide me with any documentation, or tell me what I owed, and they made up different names for their customer service people ( the same person referred to himself as - and then - and then joked that he can be whomever he wants ). I looked them up online and utilized their online form ( they would not provide email or fax, and their mailing addresses require you to know what division to write to ) to submit a Cease and Desist. -/-/-, ECMC began garnishing my wages through a third-party payroll company, -. They did not contact me, and they did not contact my employer. - did not notify me and will not provide any documentation. -, who is not my employer, but a payroll company, began garnishing the same date they received the notice. ECMC will not produce documents, and - will not produce documents. I live in the State of California ; I am - as a - by - organizations, and I have
one week, there are more than six hours worth of calls logged to ECMC Internal Collections and ECMC Customer Service. Time and time again, ECMC representatives hang up, play verbal games, claim that the only solution is to start sending them money, and incorrectly state that bankruptcy will not provide a solution. I have no intention of filing for bankruptcy and never will, particularly over something that I do not owe, but I am very annoyed that when you call for one thing, the representatives will waste your time reading information off of a screen that has no relevance to your actual situation. What I wanted and needed was to be notified of this action. Now that it has happened without notification, I want it to cease, and I want to be given actual documents. They claim that the only way to make this stop is to pay them money. I will not pay them money because that would validate something that I do n't even know about. This is - ultimate scam, and I never thought that something like this would be possible in this Country.
