I received a debt collection notice from National Credit System ( NCS ) regarding my refusal to pay a debt owed to - on the Lake for carpet replacement in the amount of $1000.00. This is a debt that I was totally unaware of and do not owe. I have contested this bill and requested proof of the allegations and NCS would not provide any additional information regarding my request. Instead they were threatening me to pay this bill without any explanation as to how - came to the conclusion that I was responsible for total carpet replacement in my apartment without notifying me of the damages. I provided them with my copy of the final walk thru paperwork that the - management team completed which made no mention of the carpet needing to be cleaned, repaired or replaced. I lived in the apartment for two years and three months prior to my departure I received my free carpet cleaning from the - Maintenance Staff for renewing my lease. NCS has reported this erroneous information to the credit reporting agencies, and now my son and I have this negative information on our credit report without a thorough explanation or proof of damages.
