For multiple months my cosigner and I have been trying to get him removed from my loan as a cosigner! We have been told multiple times that I needed to make 48 pmts to be eligible! On - -, 2016 I made my 48th pmt but received a letter today stating that I had been denied for cosigner release because I had not made 48 pmts because one of those pmts was late! I found out that the late pmt was made when I switched my direct debit account even though it had been approved on the - and my pmt was due the -, they did not debit the - out and I was late by 10 days because I was unaware! I spoke to - customer service reps and a supervisor all confirming that this was fine and would n't matter because it was there mistake! After speaking to another - representatives and a supervisor liaison today, I was yelled at, threatened to be hung up on, and placed on hold for several minutes! I was told that even though it was there fault they still denied it! American education services stated that my loan was through national collegiate trust and they were the ones that denied it! I asked for their contact information and was told they did n't have any contact info for them even though they were collecting a debt for them! I also asked for the promissory note giving them permission to collect on this debt and they refused to provide it! I asked to speak to supervisors and they refused to let me speak to anyone! There are multiple complaints online regarding this company and the scam they are pulling! I 've been paying on this loan for over four years and my balance has only decreased by very little! This company is scamming people and will not work with anyone or provide any information regarding my loan!
