I have been working with Caliber Home Loans on a mortgage modification. I had requested a fixed rate mortgage but they gave me an adjustable rate mortgage. I think that their practices are predatory. I want a fixed rate mortgage. They also did not give me enough time to examine the mortgage modification paperwork. I received the paperwork Friday, - - and they required that the documents were received back by them by Wednesday, - -. I had wanted to appeal the modification to get a fixed rate and a more affordable payment but they purposefully did not give me enough time to review the paperwork or to have an attorney review the paperwork. When I called them requesting more time they denied my request and told me that it was " take it or leave it ''. I believe that this is is another one of Caliber Home Loan 's predatory lending practices.
