Hello. I paid off a car loan that I had with Bank of the West. They sent me a " Certificate of Title, '' and told me in a letter with the title, to take it to a titling agency to release the Bank of the West lien. I called a couple of titling agencies who said they do not do that. I then called my LegalShield lawyer service who said I must take it to the DMV to update the title, but that Bank of the West is shirking their responsibility in making the customer take this step. ( I did not have to take this step when I paid off my first car loan. )
