Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement Wisconsin
I am a victim of identity theft. Someone opened a Discover credit card in my name and used it to make fraudulent purchases without my knowledge. They also used my existing payment accounts ( i.e. -, - and - ) to change my funding sources to the fraudulent card. Since I was n't aware this happened I unknowingly placed - transactions on a fraudulent Discover card that was opened in my name. I reported fraud to Discover, filed a Police Report, and reported this to the FTC. Now that I have identified the - transactions to Discover they have been harassing me to make a payment. I refused to give my checking account number to them and they kept pushing me to give it to them. They threatened me with having a past due account and they were reporting it to the credit agencies. They keep calling my house and I feel that they are being very unprofessional about my claim. I have not made a payment and will not until my case has been cleared.
