I had a car a few years ago that was " totaled '' in a car accident. The insurance did pay it off and I owed one month of late fees because it took the insurance company a while to pay it off and a balance of $110.00 - I paid the company $210.00 because of a bill they had sent which was incorrect so the account was actually $100.00 overpaid. The company reported it as a repo. I finally managed to get it corrected after multiple calls to the company and disputes with the credit reporting agencies. but they reported a balance of $900.00 which they are still reporting several years later and never sent the over payment of $100.00 back. I have spent multiple hours trying to get this corrected and now they say that it is the balance due. I am at a loss of what to do now. I have been dealing with this for years.
