Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Trouble with how payments are handled Wisconsin
I had a loan from - Student Loans which I was making monthly payments via direct deposit. I received notification that my loan would be serviced by American Education Services starting in - -. American Education Services would continue to withdraw money via direct deposit until - -, when I would have to set up a direct deposit with AES directly. AES continued to withdrawal money from my account until - -, without any noticed or notification they stopped withdrawing money from my account. They also stopped contacting me by mail. I received no communication from AES via mail that they stopped withdrawing money from my account or that I was past due. On - - -, I was notified that I was in default and referred to a collection agency. They will give me no explanation as to why they stopped withdrawing money despite their promises to do so until - -. I was making monthly payments on time, and then they stopped their commitment and am holding me at fault. I feel that this has been a predatory action, and I do not agree that I was at fault here.
