I was the victim of a scam/fraud on my bank account -/-/-. I notified the bank as soon as I was aware of it and before they notified me. Instead of treating me as the victim I was I have been treated as the perpetrator. They froze my bank account even though I let them know that my only source of income was coming in which was my Social Security check. They let me know that they would be taking out the complete amount of what they said needed to be returned to the bank from the fraud which would leave me only $450.00 to live on for five weeks until my next check. I was also told that since my account was frozen NO money could be taken out even by me. When I requested that my account be closed and my balance sent to me I was told that the balance was only $100.00 because the teller that was handling the case authorized - bills that came in after the account was frozen. How can an account that is FROZEN be


I have had many lies told to me such as that the Area Manager of the - - was going to go to the branch personally and close the account and have the check sent to me by - since I have NO money to live on. No check arrived. I called the branch again and the same teller said that when she went into close the account and send me the check she found that the account had been closed supposedly by Corporate Security and a check sent. However, despite me changing my address the check was sent to my old address which will have to be sent to my forwarding address then to me. I was accused of telling Corporate Security to close the account, by this same teller which I denied. I have been treated very bad verbally by this teller, had phone calls not returned by her boss at the branch, calls not returned by the Corporate office person I 've been working with and a lot of promises made and told a lot of lies. I still have no money. My money is being kept away from me and no one seems to be able to give me any answers about the fraud case or how to get my money back. This bank has even said they have very little experience with this type of thing so was n't sure what had to be done. It 's called Policy and Procedures. Needless to say I will never use this bank again. Due to this bank not giving me my money I have had to contact Social Security and stop Direct Deposit of my checks because I ca n't open an account since I do n't have enough money to do that to get Direct Deposit of my checks.
