I have been trying to work with AES since -/-/- ( as soon as I found out this loan was in repayment ) to reduce my monthly loan payment in order for me to get caught up. At the time, I was in between jobs and moving back in with my mother to try and get ahead. I had explained this to AES several times and submitted all documentation for a deferment 4 different times between -/-/- and -/-/-. Every time I would submit required documentation they would say that their processing department was behind and that I should call back in a week to check the status. Then, when I would call back, the person on the phone would tell me too much time has passed and that I would need to submit a new deferment request. During this time, my late fees and balance were continuing to grow. Now, -/-/-, I am still calling to try and make small payments to get caught up and they refuse to work with me. Every person I speak to on the phone is extremely rude and will not help me in resolving this matter at all. It has completely ruined my credit at this point, and I do not know what else to do.
