PNC Bank N.A. Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing District of Columbia
I have been a customer of PNC Bank for over 10 years, and I have had a PNC points Visa credit card for most of that period of time. My main checking account is with PNC. Recently, I received a prescreened offer of credit from PNC encouraging me to open a PNC points Visa credit card - which, as I mentioned, I already have! I was concerned that either a. the account had been closed for some reason and I had n't realized it or b. there was a data integrity issue within PNC that resulted in them not realizing that I was currently a card holder. I contact PNC online customer support who told me that in fact they do routinely offer identical products to current customers for their own " benefit. '' I realize this is a very small problem in light of all of the other issues facing consumers in the financial space, but I 'm just incensed that PNC has so little regard for me as a customer. I fail to see how opening another credit card I do n't need ( and already have! ) is in any way a benefit to me. It 's insulting, and it 's tricky.
