I opened checking account with PNC financial in 2007, which was free checking with no minimum balance requirements. I donot keep too much money in this account. every year or so, PNC bank keep changing the terms on the account, I find out about when my balance is decreasing because PNC keep charging $7.00 fee. Sometimes PNC credits those fees automatically but now My wife went to the branch and was misinformed that this virtualwallet account will solve her problem of having to pay fee because of low balance and was changed into virtual wallet account which has excessive fees and now I am told that if i close in 60 days, there will be fee charged. I have lost money by keeping in the PNC checking account and PNC bank does not want to return my account balance to amount before PNC started charging fees. I have called and filed complains with PNC and everytime I inquire, i m given complain # but nothing gets done in fee escalation department. I am given some claim numbers like - and -. When I called this fee escalation department, after talking to - and - - ( supervisor ), It sounded like that PNC does not take these fee complaints serious and donot want to resolve consumer complains by saying Pnc bank is entitled to charge these fee and account balance is not under FDIC protection when fees are charged.
