Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer trouble with how payments are handled
AES/PHEAA Student loan department,
Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Trouble with how payments are handled New York
I missed a few payments on - private loans managed by American Education Services ( AES ) while I was sick. When I was told the - loan would default, I began making payments and quickly paid off the past-due amount. However, by that time, - of the loans had already been placed into default. For that loan, I received no communications - at all - about past due amounts or a warning that it would be put in default. I confirmed with AES that there was no communication received regarding that loan. I contacted AES in writing to request the loan be taken out of default, because I was not notified of the past due amount or the default, and to make my payments current. I was told no.
