I had an ongoing issue with a travel group called - which is now in mediation with the State -. The policy of - is that the complainant must go through the credit card company first which I did. In this instance that company is Discover Card -. Discover Card - had initially credited my account for half of what I paid - and then took it back the day before - stating the charge was valid, even though I did not enjoy the full value of the purchase. This prompted another complaint against Discover Card - through the CFPB. The first being that they failed to issue any refund at all ... Now. Discover Card - has reduced my credit line from $9000.00 to $1400.00 without cause. They cite : Payment relative to balance on your account ( s ) No usable real estate accounts Average time since revolving accounts opened is too recent. But it is important to note that I have several credit cards because I like having cards at a - balance and I just paid off debt significantly as of - 2016 - so I do n't know what they are talking about when it comes to my balances. I also paid Discover Card - at least twice to the tune of about $6000.00 or $7000.00 so I am a very good debtor. I think Discover Card - maliciously lowered my credit rating as a result of my complaints to the State - and the CFPB. How did I go from having a $9000.00 credit line when my balance was $7000.00 or $8000.00 dollars to having a $1400.00 credit line when my balance is less than $1000.00 and I am paying down the debt monthly???? The card has literally sat in my desk drawer. This kind of malice is really indicative of what we as consumers saw - 10 years ago with credit card companies intentionally putting debtors into harm 's way through no fault of their own.
