TransUnion Credit reporting department,
Incorrect information on credit report Account terms Texas
To whom it may concern : I had a - - auto loan that was charged off in -/-/- for a balance of approximately $ -. -/-/- I contacted - - to negotiate a settlement. A verbal agreement was reached, but no payment or document was signed. Personal circumstances would n't allow me to fulfill the agreement, I called and informed them. The rep. told me to call back if my situation improved. -/-/- I received notification from my - credit tracker accounts that stated a charged off account from - - was reported to my credit reports, the balance was for over $ -. I called - - and received an automated response that no one could speak to me.
I was contacted by - -, see reviewed my complaint and the supporting documents I submitted. She stated that - - 's records do n't show they 're reporting a charged off balance of $ -, but for only $ -. - closed my complaint as it being resolved. Soon after I pulled my credit reports and they showed a balance of $ -. I contacted -, informed her of my finds, and provided a copy of my credit report. She told me she would review it. I updated my CFPB compliant that my case was not resolved and sent a copy of my credit report. A week after I provided - with my new credit report, she contacted me and stated that the balance of $ - is correct, because in - -, the credit reporting agencies made a change that requires creditors to include interest and fees of past charged off accounts. I asked - to send me a letter that highlights what she stated to me. She agreed. I followed up with an email asking her to send me the letter. I 'm currently waiting on the letter. Also, I called CFPB and updated them on my case. I was asked to call the credit reporting agencies to see if what - - said was true. I was only able to speak to a rep. from TransUnion, the rep said it was not true to his knowledge, they only report want the creditors ask to be reported. I 'm not sure how many others may be effected by this practice, if it is indeed improper reporting. Note : The case number for my previous CFPB compliant is : -. The pass code to open the PDF file is -.
