Vehicle loan Problems when you are unable to pay North Carolina

I was a consignor of a loan with Santander for my boyfriend car. He did not pay the loan. I found out that he was lying on his name and he had an arrangement with the dealership. I had to file a police report and get the car back. I went to the dealership and asked them for help because 1/ the car was under my name, which i did not know since i was supposed to be a cosignor only and - i couldn t afford it. The dealership told me that they handle this type of situation and came up with the contract saying that they will take over the loan and make payments to the car. Little did i know, they never made the payment and claim that i got the car back, which is not true. I have hired a lawyer on the case. And this is on my credit. I am currently trying to buy a house and I ca n't because of that. I Have submitted a complaint with the NY consumer affair, my lawyer sent letters to the dealership and they never responded. I have to fix it.
