Other (i.e. phone, health club, etc.) Improper contact or sharing of info Talked to a third party about my debt Indiana

I initially took out a $600.00 personal loan with the online company named Spot Loan. I defaulted on the loan, and I began getting harassing phone calls from numerous identified phone numbers with all of my personal information. I contacted Spot Loan to find out what the situation with my loan was. They informed me that they had sold my loan to a third party debt collector. When I asked to whom they sold it to, they vaguely gave me a name of a company called - and the phone number -. They still to this day have n't given me a mailing address. When I called the - number, there is a recorded message saying to leave my name, number and loan information and someone will return my call. I received a call from numerous out of state phone numbers, - lady claimed to be calling me back from -. She said they sold my loan to a company called - - - phone number -. I called that number and I was told my loan was sold to - - - at -. I called that number and it was a recorded message about taking a travel survey.

debt collectors. These calls from -. were threatening to serve me papers, and they were telling me that I would be going to court for check fraud. I told them to serve me then, and that I knew by law that they had 5 days to send me verification of the debt by mail. They refused and we 're demanding my bank account information for a payment. I refused. I understand that I have an outstanding debt, but nothing about this is the legal way of collecting it. This company Spot Loan obviously sold my personal information to a scam third party for whatever profit they could. They should be held accountable, and if they supposedly sold this loan legitimately, they should be able to provide more information to whom ... .most importantly a business address for the company that they sold it to.
