Payday loan Disclosure verification of debt Right to dispute notice not received Oregon
A process server named - called from a local - phone number from " Legal Services '' leaving a message he had paperwork to serve me with unless I contact the company directly. He would serve me on Monday between - and - -. either at my residence or place of employment. So I called the - number and talked with - - at - -. He said I owed around $1200.00 for an original loan of $600.00. It turns out Spotloan is not a licensed pay day lender in Oregon. I told him he could only charge me for the principal which I thought I had paid already. I demanded something in writing, and he stated he mailed a letter on -/-/- with a deadline to pay by -/-/-. I never received a letter. In fact I never received any prior calls or communication from this collection company. He said they could charge minimal interest, and he would see me in court.
