Wells Fargo Bank account or service department,
Checking account Deposits and withdrawals District of Columbia
Wells Fargo shut down both my checkings and savings accounts due to concerns over check fraud, but before doing so, reversed all deposited checks TWICE ( so I was short ~ $4500.00 instead of being neutral ). I have now spent 7+ hours on the phone and in their branches, getting passed between customer service branches, all the while they insist that their math makes sense ( it does not ). Even worse, Wells Fargo has a monstrous arbitration agreement with crazy fees, so I am scared to contest this, even though it is obvious to anyone with a spreadsheet and half a brain that I am right. In my documents, I have highlighted the " extra '' reversal charges that, very simply, need to be undone such that the account goes back to the balance it was at before the - deposit. In short : Wells Fargo thinks that my ~ $ - check deposit is equivalent to the ~ $ - in matching debits. Basic math indicates that it is not. Please help, CFPB!
