I have a Google Wallet account which I use for several different services provided through Google, Inc. Abruptly, and without warning, my Wallet was closed. I was not provided a reason. They told me that there was suspicious activity, and asked for verification information. I provided : a photograph of my passport, a photograph of my Driver 's License, the credit card on file, another debit card from my current banking institution, and a photograph of myself with the date and time, confirming that I was who I purported to be. I have attempted to resolve this issue through their resolution center several times, but they have done nothing, except leave me vague e-mails and point me towards their Terms of Service, which appears to be a contract of adhesion, giving the company the power to do, essentially, anything they wish to do. This strikes me as unfair. Moreover, they claim they are not a bank, even though their service allows you to make deposits, withdrawals, issues a credit card, provides bill payment services, and fund transfers. What, exactly, is one person supposed to do against a monolith like this when they have a problem? If - - - abruptly shut down my account for no reason, I have a feeling the SEC, FTC, and your agency would have several questions. Why is a technology firm except from this scrutiny?
