Construction Loan Company ( Greensky ) released $1000.00 to - - - ( contractor ) without costumer 's ( me ) authorization or any work done. As soon as I got the first loan statement, I called the loan company to complain about the unauthorized released funds and to put a stop payment to any other non-authorized sums. Greensky kept sending the statements showing the $1000.00 balance for several months ; after contractor failed to do any work on my property I cancelled the project or contract. I called the loan company to file a complain ; they reviewed the complain and for several months I did n't hear from them, then three months ago they started sending the statement again. When I called them, they claimed the $1000.00 was now a cancellation fee! I have spent hours in the phone with them trying to solve the situation, I agreed to make a payment by phone because they threaten to damage my credit report ; they also said that if I paid they would n't charge any interest on the loan ; but now they are also charging interests. So I called them and I said that I was disputing the bill and that I would file a complain with the CFPB. The loan company says I have to deal with the merchant ( contractor ) and try to get the money from them ; but in my cancelled contract it said that it was illegal for the contractor to collect funds for work no yet completed. Greensky released the funds without my authorization for work that was not done.
