I received a check from - to deposit into my account. After I deposited the check, the bank told me that the check is counterfeit. They closed my personal checking account along with my husband and my joint account. The fraud department told me that I have committed fraud. I believe that I am the victim in this situation and not the fraudulent person. We have been with Wells Fargo Bank since we retired and moved to FL 6 years ago. The bank wo n't let our mortgage check get paid from the joint account or let us use our money from that account. I think this is wrong and accusing me of fraud is wrong. Wells Fargo Bank has been very nasty to me and my husband about this. If they want to close an account, they should just close the account where the check was deposited. I do n't think they need to close an account that did not have the counterfeit check deposited. Wells Fargo bank told me that since I deposited a counterfeit check that I will never be able to have an account at their bank again. They are punishing me even though I am


am the victim with the fraud business that paid me with a counterfeit check. I make all of my deposits thru the ATM and they say that since I deposited the check thru the ATM that it is FRAUD. If they look at my history, I always deposit thru the ATM! I think Wells Fargo Bank has falsely accused me of FRAUD and not going after the people who wrote and sent me the counterfeit check is the easy way out for them. Wells Fargo Bank should investigate who the people are that wrote the counterfeit check and shut them down.
