Credit monitoring or identity protection problem cancelling or closing account
TransUnion Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Problem cancelling or closing account Georgia
I am trying to put a freeze on my credit. I accessed the respective links from this site : - since the fees are state dependent. There was no issue with - and -. I was able to complete and freeze the account online. With TransUnion, it first asked me to create an account. Then upon entering all details it said could not complete it online and asked to call a number. It was obvious it was an outsourced call, and the first thing I have to provide is my SSN. Seriously? I am trying to put a credit freeze due to a hacking of my personal information, and now I have to give my SSN to someone on the phone? This is the message I am given : What happened : Unfortunately, your request can not be fulfilled online at this time, based upon the data provided. What to do : Please contact us at ( - ) - to initiate your security freeze transaction by phone. TransUnion needs to have a better way for Individuals to freeze their credit online. I am unclear on what data is incorrect, as it is not identified. If the other - agencies could transact and freeze my credit why does TransUnion have an issue with the data? Perhaps they want to tie me in to a subscription?????
