Citibank Consumer Loan Complaint

Installment loan Taking out the loan or lease

Citibank Consumer loan department,

Installment loan Taking out the loan or lease Texas

In -/-/- I financed a Flat Screen TV through Best Buy for around $1800.00. I purchased it on 36 months same as cash promotion. I made all of my payments on time and when I went to make my online payment this month ( -/-/- ) my balance increased $1800.00. I called the lender, CitiBank to go over this situation. They informed me because I did not payoff the balance of $610.00 remaining on the loan as of the close of - they added the $1800.00 to the loan. This is more than the TV cost me 3 years ago. I advised them offered the option of a monthly e-mail payment reminder and I could be eco friendly by paying on line, which I chose. This does not show you when your promotional offer is expiring unless you click the link to the statement, which I rarely did since i would just verify the balances each month based on what I paid the prior month. show you when the promotional offer is up.This is very misleading because unless you click the link, you would never see when the promotional offer is expiring. I offered to payoff the balance and the

of this on the monthly payment e-mail reminder I receive, I would have paid this off in full. They told me I am responsible for this. I was mislead about the interest being retroactive on the original loan amount nor was I ever advised on their monthly e-mail pay reminder the promotional offer was expiring. I realize this is on the monthly statement but I decided to go green with the payment reminder to be eco friendly and it cost me because unless you click the statement link, you will never see this. I have no problem paying the interest due to my mistake but not on the original loan amount. I truly believe this is a deceptive practice promoted by CitiBank to take advantage of honest people. I am sure this has happened to many others.
