From - - to -/-/- I had a contract with - - - company in - T-. I discontinued my service due to work relocation, paid my bill and sent the equipment back to the company. On -/-/- I applied to refinance my home loan in WA and saw the negative mark on my credit for a charge from - - -. This mark lowered my credit score roughly - points from an - to a -. I contacted the collection company seeking payment ( EOS ) and they gave me - contact information. Upon contacting - - - they told me that they never received a cable modem back from me in -/-/-. I told them I sent it back and asked for the tracking confirmation for the box they sent me to return the equipment. The representative told me they could n't see and notes or information on my account because it was so old. They had very limited information. I also never received any mail or telephone calls related to this charge for the
I have always changed/ forwarded my address at the United States Post Office upon relocating for work promptly because I value paying my debts and having a perfect credit score. I contacted the US Post Office to try and show verification of that, but they only keep copies of those records for one year. I am very responsible at paying all my bills and debts before due dates. I would have perfect credit if it were n't for this - charge from - - - related to a modem that I did return. If the modem never returned back to the company it was either lost in the postal service or there was an administration mistake, but due to - records or lack there of, there is n't any information to prove a case. I never received any type of collection notification or opportunity to settle this issue prior to it appearing on my credit score.
