GreenSky Trade Credit, LLC Consumer Loan Complaint

Installment loan Taking out the loan or lease

GreenSky Trade Credit, LLC Consumer Loan department,

Installment loan Taking out the loan or lease District of Columbia

I applied online for a Home Depot Home Improvement Project Loan in the amount of $20000.00 on -/-/- which was approved for $10000.00. At that time I accepted the loan and electronically acknowledged the loan approval and was provided a loan number with my loan approval amount. The system notification also stated that I could request an increase through the company 's - number. On -/-/- when I received my kitchen project final quote from Home Depot, I attempted to increase my loan to $20000.00 but was told by the rep that an increase could not be approved but that the original approved amount of $10000.00 would be available. On -/-/- I presented the loan document and a cashier check for the project difference to the store and the loan was blocked. I spent over 90 minutes in the store at the register talking to the loan customer service department Account Supervisor who stated that the previously approved loan was loan was blocked for " income verification '' and that I would have to provide proof of income. The options offered were check stubs for the last thirty days and income statements. I am self employed and happened to have

or tax returns for -/-/-. I asked the loan customer service rep repeatedly ( more than three times ) why I was approved for the loan but never informed that it was contingent upon " income verification '' until I came to the store to make a purchase, only to be denied credit at the time ( 5 days later ) of my purchase. I received no phone call, email or regular mail to notify me of this situation. Ironically, when I returned home from the store the home improvement project loan card had arrived via fedex to my home. The following day I had to provide copies of my tax returns to the loan customer service department, and only then was I granted access to the credit for which I was originally approved on -/-/-. I still was not given a reason for the block on the original approval. I am deeply concern that there was no notification policy or real approval process for actually obtaining credit offered.
