M&T Bank Bank account or service department,

Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low Maryland

Over the past few months M & T Bank has charged me over $6000.00 in insufficient funds fees. They continued to process ACH debits after charging me stop payment fees stating that placing a " stop payment '' is a request and not a guarantee. They will not allow me to close the account or open a new one to stop these debits while the account has a negative balance. As soon as my direct deposit credits are posted, more fees are charged and my account returns to overdrawn status. It 's a horrible cycle that is costing me and my children everything we own. I would just like the insufficient funds fees refunded so we can try to save our home and car. I 've contacted M & T over a dozen times with no resolution.
