Other (phone, health club, etc.) Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was paid California
I decided to work on my credit report. I saw that Aspen Collections was on it for a debt I thought was taken care of. The company no longer sent me any bills, no longer tried to contact me, since 2010. Credit reports shows that it is still in collections. I contacted Transunion directly and filed a dispute. When I was notified that the dispute was resolved I see that the balance trying to be collected had increased from $200.00 to $310.00. What?!! Obviously my attempt to clear this up, backfired. Now what can I do? Is that legal? Why did the amount increase? Help? I have since filed a request for investigation with - -. It appears that absolutely nothing was done.
