I have several credit care accounts managed by Chase. I had taken a balance transfer offer from Chase upon opening - of the cards. The balance transfer came with a 0 % finance rate for about 9 months. I made payments on time and before the promo rate expired, I paid off the remaining balance. Within 1 week of paying it off, Chase reduced the credit limit of all of my accounts with them. I went from a combined limit of about - down to about -. I believe Chase arbitrarily reduced my credit limits as 'punishment ' for paying off the balance and avoiding finance fees. This action by Chase severely degraded my credit limit to balance ratio and resulted in a very negative impact on my credit rating.
