Social Finance, Inc. Consumer Loan Complaint

Installment loan Taking out the loan or lease

Social Finance, Inc. Consumer Loan department,

Installment loan Taking out the loan or lease California

I applied for a loan with Sofi ( sofi.com ). I was approved for the loan. I have not yet signed the papers to receive the loan - that is where the problem occurred. Once they alerted me ( via email ) that I was approved, I logged into my online account, ready to sign the papers for the loan. First, SoFi wanted me to confirm my identity. That makes sense. I had gone through identity checks before, so I was expecting them to ask routine questions. They asked me - questions to identify myself, and - of them were routine. - asked me to identify a street I have been associated with. That was routine. Another asked me to identify the type of car I had owned or leased. That was also routine.

a rental agreement with that sibling, I have never co-signed a loan or a held bank account with that sibling ... I have never had any credit or financial history with that sibling. Therefore, I do n't understand why a ) SoFi asked about my sibling when that sibling and I had no credit history together or b ) how SoFi connected my information and my sibling 's information together in the first place. How did they know to ask about that sibling? Just as importantly, how did they use the information they had obtained about my sibling? What if they used my sibling 's credit history ( which I am not familiar with ) to make decisions about my loan terms? This seems like a violation of privacy, or misuse of my personal information. I contacted SoFi customer support via instant messenger and the person did n't really understand my question. That was on Wed. -/-/2015. That person referred me to call customer support, which I did, also on -/-/2015. I left a message about the situation and asked for a call back, but have not yet received -.
