Credit monitoring or identity protection Account terms and changes California
On -/-/2015, Experian sent me an email after I setup a credit monitoring service provided by the University of California, - - - - - - - because I was notified by - and - - that my private health information had been compromised. Experian 's email to me stated that my credit score had recently changed, and that I should visit their website to learn more about the problem When I clicked on the link in the email Experian sent to me, and using the reputation of the Experian brand name, Experian requested that I provide my credit card number for the purpose of checking my credit ''. Experian then apparently used this information to start a subscription service, beginning in -, 2015, for $21.00 per month. I neither approved, nor intentionally subscribed to Experian service. I contacted Experian on -/-/2015, and requested the service be cancelled and two months of subscription fees '' be refunded. The Experian tracking number for this case is Dispute and Cancel Membership - On -/-/2015, Experian responded to my request via email and declined to refund the previous subscription fees. I am therefore filing this complaint. Experian used their brand reputation to start a subscription service that I neither agreed to nor approved.
