This is my - time contacting the CFPB with a complaint concerning Discover Student Loans. I am a week or so away from having my loan charged-off. Me and a co-worker/counselor have called in every month to do our due dilligence on what programs may be available through Discover to fit my budget an afford payments. Discover has offered payments of -, Y, & Z to which none are affordable. I received this e-mail today from the Director of Operations at Discover Student Loans ; '' Dear -, If you are having difficulty making your monthly payments, we have options to help you temporarily manage your student loan. Please call us at -. We have a repayment option you may be able to take advantage of over the phone.

" We had called in three days prior to listen to options, which ended up being the same, and when receiving this e-mail, thinking something new might be out there. So, naturally, we called in to check on what options thinking that my loans may have reached a status where something new could be arranged, and when we call in, we are offered the same plans that have been affordable the previous four months. Discover sent an e-mail with false hope that I 'd be able to re-pay my debts and arrange something to prevent further trouble, but come to find out, we wasted our time listening to the same garbage we 've been fed.
