AES/PHEAA Student loan department,
Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Can't decrease my monthly payments South Carolina
I attended - - located in -, PA from -/-/- to -/-/-. In order to attend - - I received private student loans through the National Collegiate Trust. Upon graduation in -/-/-, I have experienced difficulty paying my loans back due to poor wages and the birth of a - child. However, I have done my best to keep NCT in the loop. At this time I am currently back in school full-time in order to obtain a better job so that I may pay back all of my student loans. All of my other student loans are currently in forbearance. I am not working, I am in school full-time. NCT has hired - - to handle the collection of the balance, despite the fact that - - - manages to the payment schedule. - - called me -/-/- and indicated that if I did not pay the loan or my cosigner did not pay, then NCT would liquidate the loan. At this point the associate indicated that they would then go after my co-signers ( my mother ) bank account and income. It is my understanding that this is improper behavior on the associates end and is threatening in nature. At this point no judgement have been rendered, so threatening to wipe out my bank accounts is egregiously out of line. It is also my understanding through research and communications with American Educational Services and National Collegiate Trust that - - is a scam.
